Master of Science in Biological Engineering
Thesis Option
The process of receiving a Master of Science degree in Biological Engineering from MU can be divided into several distinct steps. Students must also conform to any of the requirements and regulations of the MU Graduate School and the University of Missouri system. Applications are accepted at any time during the year.
These steps can be divided into three groups:
Initial Steps
Before beginning the program of study:
- Meeting the minimum academic requirements.
- Acceptance by an individual faculty member (or members) willing to serve as your faculty mentor.
Preparing the M.S. Program of Study
- Identification of proficiency areas.
- Selection of the M.S. Program of Study Committee.
- Development of a Plan of Study.
Finishing the M.S. Degree
- Completion of the Plan of Study.
- Completion of the research project.
- Preparation of thesis.
- Presentation of an exit seminar.
- Submission of manuscript suitable for publication.
- Completion of the final examination.
